A peaceful summer day, a festival in the village square: Former football star Johann Baroni is celebrating the opening of his new sausage stand. Suddenly, a shot rings out - and Baroni collapses lifeless to the ground. Gravedigger Max Broll is desperate: His best friend must not die! While Baroni fights for his life in the hospital, Max does everything he can to identify the shooter. He saw who shot Baroni. However, the supposed perpetrator turns out to be an innocent tourist. There is no motive, no murder weapon, no other witnesses - the police consider the man innocent, and no one believes Max. He has no choice but to take matters into his own hands and track down the murderer...
