Internet Technologies, Applications and Societal Impact

The book "Internet Technologies, Applications and Societal Impact" documents the results of the IFIP Workshop held in 2002 in Wroclaw, Poland. It brings together various research aspects of the internet, both technical and societal in nature. The aim of the workshop was to gather scientists and practitioners from different research fields to collaboratively work on the development of the internet and reflect on its impacts on the economy and society. The contributions published in this volume include current research on internet applications, covering topics such as languages, mobility, multimedia, quality of services, voice over IP, and wireless access. A total of 40 contributions were submitted, of which 18 were selected for presentation. Additionally, four invited contributions are included, offering further perspectives. The event was sponsored by the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) and organized by the Wroclaw University of Technology.
