Internationalisation in United Kingdom Higher Education Institutions

The book "Internationalisation in United Kingdom Higher Education Institutions" by Terfot Ngwana offers a comprehensive analysis of internationalization in British universities. In recent years, internationalization in higher education has gained importance; however, research on the interactions between institutional policies and international regulatory institutions is limited. This work utilizes empirical data from a national survey as well as case studies to examine the impact of the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS) on British universities. It argues that while the GATS framework for regulating international trade in educational services is relevant, it has only limited direct effects on the policies and practices of British universities. The analysis highlights both the awareness of key stakeholders within the institutions and the coherence in the structures of the universities.
