The International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) are mandatory for all publicly listed companies across the EU due to a regulation. In Germany, non-capital market-oriented groups have the option for voluntary reporting according to IFRS for consolidated financial statements and specific annual financial statements.

This publication includes all International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as well as International Accounting Standards (IAS) and all interpretations (SICs, IFRICs) that have been approved by the European Union (EU) and are thus mandatory for capital market-oriented companies.

The standards are presented side by side in English and German. This allows for a comparison with the original English text, which must be referenced in matters of interpretation.

The publication includes a preface and an introduction by Professor Dr. Henning Zülch, HHL-Leipzig Graduate School of Management, and Prof. Dr. Matthias Hendler, Münster.

The 2024 edition takes into account all changes adopted by the European Union up to approximately January 15, 2024.
