Product details

The Bregaglia Biennale is a biennial exhibition of contemporary art in the Bregaglia Valley, located in the southern part of the canton of Graubünden towards Italy. This historically significant region has been an important transit area for centuries, where architectural, cultural-historical, linguistic, and climatic threads converge.

This book for the 2022 edition of the Bregaglia Biennale presents works by around a dozen artists who engage with the landscape and the rural communities. This year's exhibition focuses on the connection between the villages of Bregaglia. The venue is the village of Vicosoprano: the former main town of Bregaglia, which, with its infrastructure, remains a regional supply center for the valley. The artists find numerous points of reference here to reflect on the peculiarities of everyday life and history in Bregaglia.

Featuring a literary text by Anna Stern and essays by Fabienne Dubs and Luisa Ziaja, as well as works by Yasmin Afschar, Alexandra Blättler, Bigna Guyer, Damian Jurt, Sulgi Lie, Felicity Lunn, Bettina Mühlebach, Laurence Schmidlin, Nadia Veronese, Anna Vetsch, Sarah Wiesendanger, and Susann Wintsch.
