On an island inhabited by cormorants and sea elephants, and surrounded by dolphins, a girl is the only one left of her tribe. In her daily struggle for survival, she becomes increasingly a part of nature and a friend to the animal world. Many adventurous years pass until a human word finally reaches the girl's ears again.
