Innovative Paths of Albanology

"Innovative Paths of Albanology" is an academic book aimed at redefining Albanology and establishing it as an interdisciplinary field of study. Traditionally viewed as a subfield of historical linguistics, Albanology is here expanded through contributions from emerging researchers from Albania, Kosovo, and Western Europe. The thirteen contributions cover a wide range of topics, including literature, linguistics, and cultural studies. They explore the intersections of language contact, sociolinguistics, digital humanities, as well as comparative literature and research on gender, minorities, migration, and memory. By employing discourse analysis, popular culture, visual arts, and other modern approaches, the dynamics of Albanian culture in today's Albanian-speaking countries are illuminated, making the book a fascinating case study in the context of Balkan studies.
