Like no other of his time, the painter Rembrandt radiated brilliance, both through the outstanding quality and originality of his works and the organization of his workshop. His students and successors carried his style as the Rembrandt brand, which continues to have an unbroken appeal to this day. We ask: Why does Rembrandt's art resonate equally with contemporary painters, generations of collectors, and today's viewers?
