Product details
The deployment of executives abroad is essential for internationally operating companies to achieve corporate goals and compete globally. A significant number of these assignments fail, among other reasons, due to low willingness to perform and the weak attachment of local employees to their expatriate leaders. Neither corporate practice nor academia provides suggestions for measures regarding local employees. Gülden Özbek-Potthoff examines in an intercultural context the influence of local employees' expectations and perceptions of their expatriate leaders on employee behavior and company success. She draws on implicit leadership theory, which she expands upon in her empirical analysis.
