Penguins are birds, but they cannot fly. They love the water and spend most of their lives swimming and diving in the sea. All species of penguins live in the Southern Hemisphere of our planet, some near the equator, while others inhabit the icy continent of Antarctica. For example, Emperor Penguins raise their only chick in temperatures that can drop to minus 60 degrees.
