Here, 32 storytellers present an entertaining, touching, and highly surprising impression of their work in a profession as old as humanity itself, which has often been forgotten in modern times but has experienced a renaissance worldwide in recent years. Alongside the digital revolution, storytelling is increasingly being passed from mouth to ear. Storytellers Without Borders is an international network of storytellers who come together to dedicate their work to humanistic and peace-promoting motives. The initiator of this network is the storytelling artist and editor Micaela Sauber. Her work in war and post-war areas, in therapeutic education and social therapy, as well as her extensive networking with colleagues, connected with the refugee theme since 2015, provided the impetus for its founding. The second editor, Dr. Margarete Wenzel, has found her way to storytelling through border crossings between philosophy, pedagogy, voice work, and improvisational theater. She designs and leads projects such as Integrative Storytelling for refugee women and is a trainer at the Association of Storytellers, chairwoman of the NarrARE association, and founder and director of the Maerchenakademie Vienna.
