During his first trip to Iceland in 1991, the Swiss photographer Marco Paoluzzo made a two-day expedition to the Féroé Islands. With a surface area of 1400 km2, this archipelago of 18 islands, which seems to be lost in the sea, never ceases to fascinate. Home to more than 1300 kilometres of the Cotes du Danemark, of which they are an administrative division, these islands are home to more birds and birds of prey than inhabitants (less than 48,000). It gets more than three cents a day, but these climatic conditions do not favour the enchantment of a sombre and mystical landscape, with its rugged and mineral veins. From voyage to voyage, the photographer takes a closer look at the essence of these lands, which are so beautiful and primitive.
