'Identität durch Narration?'

In the context of a fast-paced contemporary society, where the conditions for identity formation are increasingly blurred, this book poses the question of how to appropriately respond pedagogically to the changing demands placed on the individual. The approach of narrative identity is examined in terms of its fundamental conditions, and the problem areas of modern identity formation are made visible. In the first part, various threads from identity concepts of selected disciplines are taken up, connected, and traced to the narrative approach. The second part critically illuminates the focal point of identity formation in a fragmented and confusing world through a diagnosis of the times. In the third part of the book, the conditions of the narrative approach are explored, according to which identity is formed through constructive, narrative processes of the self. The pedagogical relevance is addressed separately in a fourth part to reveal far-reaching consequences for education and upbringing.
