My novel is actually not about war. It is not about death and destruction. My novel is about love. About that love that each of us must experience at least once in our lives for it to have made sense to be born. About that love that numbs the strongest innate human feeling, the instinct for self-preservation. About that love where we love someone more than ourselves. That is the love that elevates us to the creator. Against all the violence and all the evil in the world, we have a single, yet extraordinarily powerful weapon, and that is love.
