Ich weiss

In "I Know," Birgit Weyhe shares experiences from her childhood: born in Munich, she grew up in Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya. She not only describes her personal experiences and interactions with the local people but also provides insights into the social and political conditions that prevailed in these countries during the 1970s and 1980s. Through her typically expressive black-and-white drawings and with a touch of melancholic humor, she vividly recounts a time when she was "the outsider." The title can thus be understood in a double sense: I (am) white.
