Sabine Mehne (1957-2022) had defeated cancer and fought her way back to life with all her strength. In her mid-60s, she was among the long-term survivors following a bone marrow transplant. No doctor could manage the numerous and very burdensome late effects of cancer treatment. Therefore, she made a radical decision: she did not want to rely on modern high-performance medicine any longer.

“Death fasting” is Sabine Mehne's personal response to the question of how she can complete her life in a self-determined manner and without further suffering.
