This book reads like a contemporary comedy: it is laughable, it goes to the limits, crosses them and draws a bitterly evil picture of the world today. Emmanuelle Bayamack-Tam looks for themes that hurt: racism, which makes life hell; old age, which is like a shipwreck in our society; or the family, which becomes an object of hate. I'm Coming. is a fetish novel: people are obsessed with objects that they buy, collect, use and discard according to their mood. Surely an adopted child can be given back when it's no longer fun.
