Product details

Grace O'Malley is the story of an extraordinary woman: an Irish pirate born in 1530 on the west coast of Ireland, who died there in 1603. Even today, she is well-known and famous among the Irish for having challenged the English. From a young age, Grace stands out. She wears trousers, cuts her hair short, and disguises herself as a cabin boy on her father's ship, which sails to Spain. Here, she learns the craft of seamanship from the ground up. Eventually, she is married against her will at the age of 16 and gives birth to three children. However, the time comes when she becomes a rival to her husband, as she captures more treasures at sea and on land than he does. As the first woman, she becomes the leader of her clan. Grace O'Malley was an important figure in the struggle between the Irish and the English.
