Once, before timeless time, there was a little soul. And this little soul knew that she was the light - and therefore part of the many millions of lights that make up the universe. But the little soul also wanted to experience itself as the light. God said that in order to do this, she first had to know what darkness was. How could one know "up", "hot" and "fast" without knowing what "down", "cold" and "slow" is? The little soul understood that she first had to get to know the opposite in order to understand who she herself really was.

"This is a great gift," said God, "because without it you could never find out what anything is really like."

And so the little soul set off on this adventure. And perhaps it is very similar to the adventure we all experience on planet Earth.
