Hypermoral

Germany is outraged. Often, willingly, and about almost everything. Morality has mutated into the guiding ideology and a substitute for religion in our post-religious society. Morality has become absolute; it tolerates no other discourses alongside it. Thus, morality transforms into the tyranny of values: minority cults, grievance fetishism, equality ideology. Politics, economics, art - everything is reduced to moral questions. Even consumption must be fair, sustainable, and resource-conserving. Those who seek to escape this dictate of total morality will face social sanctions.
