Humanistic psychotherapy

Humanistic psychotherapy encompasses many well-known approaches such as talk therapy, person-centered therapy, Gestalt therapy, psychodrama, transactional analysis, existential analysis/logotherapy, and body psychotherapy. There are numerous works on each approach. In this book, for the first time, the historically grown root network of shared concepts that underpin the holistic-humanistic view of humanity is presented. Connected with newer insights, including those from infant research, biosemiotics, and systems theory, the author paints a consistent overall picture of humanistic psychotherapy. This is complemented by a brief presentation of the individual approaches as well as some implications for the scientific discussion regarding their evidence.
