Hotel Quadriga

Inspired by the Hotel Adlon, the gripping fate of a Berlin hotel dynasty from 1870 to its fall comes to life in three self-contained volumes, reviving German history. Thirteen-year-old Karl Jochum witnesses a magnificent military parade marching down Unter den Linden on a glorious morning in June 1871. It heralds the birth of a new German Empire. His gaze rises to the proud Quadriga atop the Brandenburg Gate, where he sees the victorious Victoria. In that moment, the son of a modest pastry chef vows to make something of his life. He will open his own café. After that, he is drawn back to the Quadriga. He wants to establish the best hotel in Berlin, no matter the cost.
