Product details
The authors present a therapeutic approach for speech development disorders, focusing on actions where the child works on different levels that complement each other throughout the therapy. Both the cognitive and linguistic development of the child are promoted by structuring and verbalizing everyday actions. The action-oriented therapeutic approach takes into account the child's motivation, creativity, and emotionality. Accordingly, an individualized therapy planning is enabled, which is based on the diagnosed abilities of the child and their personal interests.
The theoretical and methodological foundations provide a solid basis for the therapeutic approach. They have been further developed, deepened, and their practical implementation clarified for the current edition. The chapter on methodology describes the fundamental procedures in individual phases. The case studies have been supplemented by a description of group therapy for children with intellectual disabilities and children with Down syndrome. It becomes clear that the methodological approach can be easily adapted to the respective target group. The therapeutic materials have been completely revised for the current edition and serve as inspiration for one's own therapy planning.
