Hot Dog

Ayşe unfortunately cannot have a dog. Her mom thinks dogs are unclean, and pets are actually forbidden in their high-rise building. So, Ayşe visits the animal shelter whenever she can. It's located in the woods behind the high-rise. There, the police have dropped off a big dog. Caretaker Gabi wants to get rid of him as quickly as possible because he has a fever. However, Ayşe and the dog take an immediate liking to each other. Ayşe calls him "Sicak," which is Turkish for "Hot." Gabi doesn't find this funny at all. The veterinarian has already announced over the phone that the strange dog with the high fever must be euthanized: suspected rabies! Ayşe must take action before it's too late... "Hot Dog" is the story of a Turkish girl who stands up for her peculiar dog against all odds. It's a light-hearted tale about bullying, migration, and how perseverance can lead to great heights.
