About the Work
The work provides users with comprehensive explanations that maintain high scientific standards while ensuring excellent readability, facilitating quick problem-solving. In the detailed presentation of the fundamentals of architectural law, general contractual and liability issues related to the HOAI are presented in a cohesive manner. The commentary on the HOAI itself includes the current fee tables, which are explained as necessary. As is customary, the fee rates are presented in interpolated form in the smallest increments, making it easy to read the respective fee. The accompanying Siemon tables have proven effective for calculating the proportional contributions of individual services, allowing for accurate billing of fees for partially rendered services. These tables are referenced in numerous sample contracts. Public clients have also begun to apply the Siemon tables.

Regarding the New Edition
The changes introduced by the HOAI 2021, which came into effect on January 1, 2021, are presented in detail. Practitioners are provided with practical guidance on the parallel application of the HOAI 2013 for contracts concluded before January 1, 2021, as well as the HOAI 2021, which applies to all contracts concluded from January 1, 2021, onwards. The focus of the new edition is not only on the HOAI 2021 but also on the new Construction Contract Law, which for the first time legally regulates the architect's contract. Notable changes include: the obligation to create a planning basis with cost estimates, a special right of termination upon presentation of the planning basis, and the right to partial acceptance of the architect's service in cases of joint liability.
