In the German-speaking media, there has been a prevailing sentiment for several years that meat consumption is unhealthy, ecologically questionable, and morally objectionable. In fact, these claims contradict the latest scientific publications. And perhaps even more importantly, they partially contradict fundamental findings in anthropology, which, unlike nutritional physiology, is no longer in its infancy. In this book, philosopher Elias Gudwis (M.A.) subjects the currently dominant narratives in the German-speaking public to a critical and simultaneously transparent theoretical examination of science for readers. The thesis: meat consumption is not only morally justifiable but also health-promoting and ecologically sustainable. This work represents a novelty in the German-speaking world and has the potential to significantly enrich the current debate.
