Homeoffice, Arbeitszufriedenheit und Work-Life-Balance. Auswirkungen während der Corona-Pandemie

The ad hoc sample consists of 154 subjects and was collected by means of a standardised online questionnaire. The descriptive and explanatory data examined suggest a rather negative impact of home office during the Corona pandemic on job satisfaction and work-life balance. Furthermore, a negative influence of overtime in the home office on job satisfaction and work-life balance can be assumed.

One reason for the tendency towards poorer job satisfaction and work-life balance in the home office than originally assumed could be that some of the test persons did not work from home voluntarily. In previous studies, it can be assumed that the majority of work in the home office was voluntary, which represents a considerable difference in comparison with the data collected here during the Corona pandemic. The Corona pandemic and the accompanying contact restrictions also result in changes in the working environment. So far, it has been assumed that home office has a positive effect on the mediators autonomy and work-life balance, which in turn increase job satisfaction, whereas home office can also have a direct and beneficial effect on job satisfaction.
