Das AMDP-System

The AMDP system for documenting mental health findings has gained widespread use in clinical applications and research projects. It is part of many internal documentation systems in clinics and primarily serves as a training tool in psychopathology. For the 11th fully revised edition of the manual, the 100 mental and 40 somatic core symptoms, along with their respective additional symptoms, have been further refined in terms of language and definitions, and inconsistencies have been eliminated. For all features of the mental health findings, examples are now provided separately from the explanations, enhancing user-friendliness. The guidelines for grading have also been fundamentally revised.

The aim of the manual is to present the agreements, definitions, and comments on the AMDP system clearly, thus enabling a standardized application of the system. The manual can be effectively used for the training and education of medical and psychology students and serves as a reference work for all professional groups in psychiatry, psychotherapy, and psychosomatics.
