Product details
The textbook presents the central content of the reformed Master's program in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy. It covers all psychotherapeutic guideline procedures, including cognitive behavioral therapy, systemic therapy, depth-psychologically oriented therapy, analytical psychotherapy, and neuropsychological psychotherapy. The textbook is primarily aimed at Master's students in the direct study program of psychotherapy and aligns its content with the psychotherapy licensing regulations.
Chapters on theoretical foundations are supplemented by practice-oriented chapters that describe specific interventions related to each procedure. Additional chapters address various methods of psychological diagnostics, therapeutic core competencies, initial interviews, case conceptualization, and therapy planning, as well as therapy conclusion and evaluation. Adjustments for specific target groups are also highlighted, such as for children and adolescents, older adults, or individuals from different cultures and those with intellectual disabilities. Furthermore, the book discusses the specifics of certain settings, including the involvement of significant others, group therapy, work in multi-person settings, and online therapy.
Another 34 chapters summarize key information on various disorders in childhood, adolescence, and adulthood, presenting disorder models and treatment approaches from the perspective of different therapeutic orientations. Chapters on prevention, rehabilitation, psychopharmacology, assessment, and legal and ethical frameworks complete the volume. The presentation in the book is enhanced by 225 learning control questions, including answers, which can be downloaded from the Hogrefe website after registration and used for exam preparation.
