Luc Verlain loves good food, women and his carefree life in Paris. But when his father falls seriously ill, Luc asks to be transferred. To Bordeaux, of all places, in the Aquitaine region, from where he had fled as a young policeman. Back home, Luc has to face his memories. And shortly after his arrival a murder shakes the region: a girl lies beaten to death on the beach of Lacanau-Océan. Speculation in the small village quickly boils over. The victim has only recently ended his relationship with the Algerian neighbour's boy, who is considered a prime suspect. The girl's stepfather wants to take matters into his own hands. Luc's investigations take him to the beaches and vineyards of the region and back to Paris, always at his side is his colleague Anouk, whose charm he finds hard to resist.
