Giftedness is multifaceted! The ABCs of life for gifted and highly sensitive individuals. Do you often feel "out of place"? Perhaps psychotherapy hasn't helped you so far? Or are you a therapist with a patient who has psychiatric diagnoses, but you feel something is off? This book is a journey of discovery to recognize gifted children, adolescents, and especially adults, or to recognize oneself. The coexistence of gifted and typically gifted individuals can also be made more harmonious with these insights. Gifted individuals are neither geniuses nor arrogant know-it-alls. Highly sensitive individuals are neither crybabies nor oversensitive - and many gifted individuals are highly sensitive. They think and feel in more nuanced, interconnected, and immediate ways, which doesn't necessarily make life easier for them or those around them. However, when everyone is better informed about how to promote and utilize these potentials in a healthy way, there are more opportunities for development: on a personal level, in partnerships, in schools, in business, in politics - and not least, it helps us shape the world we want to live in. This book represents a holistic and interdisciplinary approach for the first time, incorporating content from psychology, medicine, psychiatry, education, psychosomatics, and alternative medicine such as Green Care. It bridges the gap between the commonly accepted view of cognitive giftedness and a broader approach that includes artistic, creative, nature-centered, and highly sensitive giftedness. This diversity can be scientifically validated and utilized both therapeutically and personally.
