Product details
The farming village of Hollenfeld is located in the parish of Goldensen on the edge of the Nordheide south of Hamburg. There, at the end of the 19th century, Claus-Hinrich Hinners, a certified farmer, is the seventh generation to farm the hereditary farm. He is a farmer of a different kind. The neighbours say that he does not collaborate and only divides up the work. Together with his wife Auguste, he founds the "Green Salon" in the farm's own restaurant. Here, social evenings are held in an elite circle of the local community, from which ideas for social and economic development emerge. Associations and cooperatives spring up like mushrooms. Envy and property speculation are the concomitant phenomena. The First World War brings a break and the farm is in a precarious position. But the Heidebaron is a visionary, doer and benefactor at the same time. A trail leads to Switzerland. Will the family succeed in securing the farm's succession?
