Berne 68

The term "68" is often associated with student protests in major cities. However, a closer look reveals that the students were neither the first nor the only ones demanding more self-determination and participation. The establishment was also challenged outside the metropolises. Historians born after 1968 illustrate the widespread impact of the upheaval referred to as '68' in Bern, Biel, and Burgdorf. Additionally, they recount the experiences and memories of twelve activists. Thus, '68' emerges as a complex interplay between nonconformist journalists and writers, students, hippies, apprentices, high school students, Jenische people, lesbians, radical feminists, and others.
