Herzog & de Meuron 2005-2007

After nearly eight years, the long-awaited sixth volume of the complete works of Herzog & de Meuron covering the years 2005 to 2007 is being released. The approximately 60 projects showcase the Swiss architects at the height of their abilities. Among them are iconic buildings such as the Perez Art Museum in Miami and the VitraHaus in Weil am Rhein. The designs in this volume expand the entire vocabulary of architectural means and respond in a highly diverse manner to current developments of the era. From a small renovation project of a private house to a studio ensemble, as well as residential towers and large-scale urban planning projects, the engagement with the site is refined. Herzog & de Meuron continually develop new methods and draw connections to the vocabulary of classical modernism and their own body of work. Architecture becomes a means to give physical form to an increasingly virtual world.
