The concept of heart thinking is often used today, usually in connection with a counterposition to intellectual thinking. Rudolf Steiner explicitly mentions this term only in one place. The editor has explored its use and the underlying considerations, showing through a compilation of further texts that it involves exercises aimed at achieving inspiration. In seven chapters, various series of exercises primarily drawn from Rudolf Steiner's lectures are presented. There are two fundamental gestures that connect these exercises. The first is the gesture of renunciation, which ranges from extinguishing the images created in meditation to inner silence and the conscious removal of sensory perception. The second is the gesture of developing new feelings towards natural phenomena and spiritual scientific descriptions. With their help, one can progress from the development of feeling to a new way of thinking that corresponds to the essence of what is to be recognized and its spiritual reality.
