Hermeneutik des Selbst im Kontext

Hermeneutics, the study of understanding and the art of interpretation, changes with its subject matter. In a classical form, it applies to the interpretation of ancient scriptures, sacred texts and legal documents. In an expanded form, as general and universal hermeneutics, it deals with the development of texts in general and the understanding of reality as such. Finally, as an existential hermeneutics, it asks about the understanding subject itself: The subject of a hermeneutics of the self is the human being as a being who understands and communicates with himself.
