Hereditäres Brust- und Eierstockkrebs-Syndrom

Given the high percentage of breast cancer cases with a strong familial clustering that cannot be explained by changes in the main susceptibility genes BRCA1 and BRCA2, we proposed this study to determine the mutation prevalence of the RAD51C and RAD51D genes in our population. These results will be useful for assessing RAD51C and RAD51D as risk predictors for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndrome (HBOC). To this end, a cross-sectional study was conducted among patients who met the criteria for high or moderate risk for the SCMOH syndrome and who did not have pathogenic gene variants in BRCA1, BRCA2, and CHEK2 associated with an increased risk.
