Mathematical basic knowledge is considered an essential skill today, which is expected in various professional fields at the beginning of vocational training. The series Mathematics Basics offers a systematic and clear introduction to the most important areas of mathematics in ten volumes. It is primarily aimed at the following target groups: primary school students preparing for vocational training or in the 10th grade, young people in bridging programs, preparatory courses, and integration preparatory courses, learners in support courses, and adults in vocational further education who want to acquire basic mathematical knowledge. This volume addresses the topic of arithmetic and algebra. First, the fundamentals of the first and second order of operations in arithmetic are covered. In a second part, the newly acquired knowledge is applied.
