Product details
Dr. phil. Alexander-Martin Sardina (born 1973 in Hamburg) studied political science, educational science, and American studies (linguistics, literature, and culture of North America) as his main subjects, with sociology and economics as minors, and modern history, public law, and psychology as additional subjects starting in 1994. Several research and study stays took him to the USA, China (Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen), the then British Crown Colony of Hong Kong, and the Portuguese Colony of Macau. Alongside his studies, he completed training as a Catholic religious educator from 1994 to 1997. Sardina successfully completed his studies at the University of Hamburg in 2002 with the state examination and a thesis on the contradictions of educational concepts in National Socialism, using the example of the NAPOLAs. He earned his doctorate in 2017 at the same university with a dissertation titled "Developments in Foreign Language Policy with Special Consideration of the Language 'English' in the System of Public Education in the Soviet Occupation Zone and the German Democratic Republic (1945 to 1989)," which is an educational historical analysis supplemented by eyewitness accounts based on archival materials from the Soviet Military Administration in Germany and the Ministry of Education of the GDR. Since 2003, Sardina has been active in non-partisan political education, as a translator, and as a business consultant.
