Heinrich Bullinger works

The present volume contains the critical edition of three pastoral-theological writings of the Zurich reformer Heinrich Bullinger: two marriage writings (the "Volkommne underrichtung desz christenlichenn eestands" of 1527 and "Der christlich eestand" of 1540) and a guide to care for the dying ("Bericht der kranken" of 1535). They complement the editions of Bullinger's exegetical and theological writings and show the Reformer from a side central to his work - the pastoral one, which provides advice and comfort to the faithful in everyday difficulties and in serious illness. All three writings are now available for the first time in a scholarly edition. They offer rich contentual foundations for discussion in theology and historical research, in cultural and gender history, and in older German studies.
