Product details
It is considered a true all-rounder: the cargo transporter from VW, better known by the abbreviation "LT". The model range of the first LT series was broad, covering the segment from 2.8 tons to 5.6 tons. When it was launched in 1975, Volkswagen positioned the LT as a clear competitor to the Mercedes 206/207 and Ford Transit. The new model was primarily aimed at the large target group of commercial customers, for whom the T2 and later the T3 were not sufficient: with numerous body variants - from panel vans to value transporters - the program offered a wide range of applications. Additionally, it was used by fire departments and emergency services, for which specialized companies customized the vehicles to meet their needs. Bus and motorhome manufacturers also discovered the possibilities that the LT offered. And today, you can still see them: LT examples that have been in service for over 30 years.
