Product details

Olga left her mountain farming village in South Tyrol years ago and now lives in the city with an Italian, a "Walschen." When she returns to her hometown for her father's funeral, she feels rejected, like a traitor to her homeland. Here, as well as among her Italian friends in the city, she is a stranger who must find her identity between two worlds. "Die Walsche," adapted into a film and performed as a play, is a story of alienation and estrangement that has lost none of its poignant relevance to this day.
