Stefan Marx

The book "Stefan Marx" offers a deep insight into the artistic practice of the renowned artist Stefan Marx. Since 2019, Marx has been focusing on the technique of monotype, which he developed in collaboration with the Berlin screen printer Björn Wiede. In an innovative process, three individual images are created: a positive, a negative, and a so-called "ghost image." This technique is characterized by an intense application of color, where the surface of the image is not touched, resulting in unique and expressive artworks. The book impressively combines images of the monotypes with design sketches from Marx's notebooks, providing a fascinating glimpse into his creative process. In addition to text images, the collection also includes figurative motifs, including animal drawings, reflecting the broad spectrum of his artistic output. Born in 1979 in Schwalmstadt, Stefan Marx is not only a draftsman but also a skateboarder and cultural philosopher, whose works are exhibited internationally.
