Product details
Li T'ai-po is arguably the most famous Chinese poet. For years, there has been an almost complete translation of his poetic works by the prominent sinologist Erwin von Zach (1872-1942), although it is scattered across some rare journals. This volume contains the complete books XI-XV of the poems, which were published in the journal De Chinesche Revue in Batavia, of which no copies exist in German libraries. There are plans to make the remaining parts of the only complete translation into a Western language accessible as well. Zach is regarded as one of the most significant European sinologists; other works of his have previously been published in a collected edition by the Harvard-Yenching Institute, which attests to the appreciation of Zach's translations.
