When nothing is as it used to be, my mother was there. When Zofia's father goes to a rehab clinic, she and her sister Kinga immediately know what they, as daughters of a Polish family, must do. Their mother cannot possibly stay home alone, so she is quickly moved into Zofia's student apartment. While this keeps the apartment clean, nothing is where it used to be. The food is on the table, but it always contains meat – and Zofia is a vegetarian. In the end, the daughters play mother for their mom, and mom herself plays Cupid. For Zofia, she brings in Anton: organic-German and an aspiring doctor, exactly what she envisions for her daughter.
