Nowhere

Yasmina Reza, who celebrated international triumphs with "God of Carnage" in the film adaptation by Roman Polanski, is not only the most performed contemporary playwright but also a master of the short form. In "Hammerklavier," her first prose book, the author living in France recorded brief fictional and autobiographical scenes, stories about family and friends, a self-portrait in vignettes. In "Nowhere," eight years later, she captured similar snapshots in anecdotal-philosophical narratives about her two children and her own rootless childhood. Moments of tender attention, both cheerful and melancholic at the same time.
