Product details
Hans Krüsi (1920–1995) seemingly emerged from nowhere in the late 1970s on the Swiss art scene. The audience was equally astonished by his work and his persona, both of which defied the conventions of the art world and society. Krüsi, one of the most important representatives of outsider art in Switzerland, was a flickering phenomenon that continues to fascinate to this day. In 1981, Krüsi's extraordinary creations were publicly exhibited for the first time by the Buchmann Gallery, then based in St. Gallen, and he quickly gained recognition as a serious artist. Other artists soon recognized that he was one of those rare individuals who intuitively grasp current art strategies to create highly independent visual universes. He was one of them—someone who worked on the renewal of art without regard for rules and conventions. After more than two decades, this book presents a comprehensive monograph on Hans Krüsi for the first time. It showcases his work in all its breadth with approximately 300 continuously colored illustrations.
