Hang Loose! Semiotik des Trendsports

A book for all those who are powerful surfers or want to understand the surfer. With increasing medialization, globalization, differentiation of goods and pluralization of life situations, meaningful signs and symbols have increased rapidly over the last three decades. But not only the signs in general have multiplied, but also their meanings and evaluations. As mute carriers of information, visual signs and symbols clothe every cultural space, be it religious, public or scientific, but also sports in general and trend sports in particular. In contrast to the usual semiotic analyses of sport, this book does not turn to the actual substrate of the sports semiotics of the plot, but rather to the visual signs within the German surfing scene, which are taken up.
