The textbook conveys the fundamental and specialized knowledge of construction drawing and provides a comprehensive overview of all trades. This makes it not only ideally suited for aspiring construction draftspeople but also for anyone else who requires such an overview, such as students in the upper secondary school focusing on construction technology or beginners in this field.

The work is characterized by its particularly illustrative presentation of the content with numerous images, the clear structuring of the texts, and the motivating, self-organized learning-oriented presentation of the learning material.

The 8th edition has been thoroughly revised: environmental protection concerns are addressed throughout, and all chapters now include additional QR codes with illustrative, supplementary, and in-depth information. As part of the revision, many images and tables throughout the work have also been replaced or updated.

The new edition also incorporates all current developments in technology and standardization. The following changes compared to the previous edition are particularly noteworthy:

As more and more technical regulations and standards have switched to the new unit Pascal for mechanical stress and pressure, this unit has now been consistently applied, while the respective previous unit is generally still indicated.

In Chapter 1, the section on "Technical Regulations" as well as the topics "Knowledge Transfer Procedures," "Building Information Modeling (BIM)," and "Billing of Construction Services" have been revised.

In Chapter 4, the "Exposure Classes" (DIN EN 206 and DIN 1045-2) have been updated.

In Chapter 5, the overview of artificial masonry units has been improved, and the section on "Concrete Masonry Units" according to DIN 20000-403 and DIN EN 771-3 has been fundamentally revised. Additionally, new tasks have been included.
