The strengthening of collective labor agreements and standard employment contracts as part of the accompanying measures for the free movement of persons, along with the now constitutionally guaranteed right to strike, has brought collective labor law to the forefront of interest. This handbook fills a gap in the literature on collective labor law. Since the commentary on GAV law by Schweingruber/Bigler in 1985, there has been no work that examines this legal field from the perspective of employee associations. The handbook, written by specialists in collective labor law, addresses the constitutional and international legal foundations, particularly the right to associate. It provides comprehensive commentary on the articles from the Code of Obligations related to GAV and NAV, as well as the Federal Act on the Declaration of General Applicability of GAV.
